Question : Hi doctor, hope you well. I am just curious about something. Before 12 weeks I had like abit of a stomach and now this is the 12th week and my stomach has gone down. Is that normal? The doctor said I must go at 13 weeks for a scan. So il be going next week Tuesday InshaaAllah. Which will be about 13+2.

Thank you

Brief Answer:
Common occurrence

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX, your curiosity is genuine and indeed very observative.
It is common because till 11-12 weeks uterus stays in pelvis and thus pushes urinary bladder a little upwards because of lack of space and eventually all organs are moved up a little giving an appearance of a lump but when uterus grows further it is comes inside abdomen which has a lot of space to accommodate and hence lump vanishes for a few weeks.
I wish you all the best for ultrasound.
Take care
