
What Do The Following Lab Test Reports Indicate?

Q1) In LabResults_ALL.pdf file, in page-3 it is reported I have high risk of "Coronary Heart Disease Risk", it is 5.6 level and the normal level is <4.4
Q2) In the same file, "Triglycerides" level is also high which is 191 and the normal is 40-175.
Q3) In the same file, "RDW" is also high which is 15.2 and the normal level is 11.0-14.0.
Q4) Please go through the attached reports and let me know what are the things I would be following.
Also, "Cholesterol HDL" is also low which is 29. And MCV is 77. Regarding this is there any suggestion?

I went through the reports. We can discuss these.
At the outset I found you are a smoker and it raises the coronory disease and cancer and GI problem risk heavily.
Second there seems no good regular physical activity that is shown with low HDL. Low hdl is a risk factor for heart disease. The smoking habit led to increased triglycerides.
The plan further is
1) Meet an expert to tackle smoking habit immediately the risk will be back to zero as that of an average non smoker within 10 yrs of quitting.
2) Set a goal for exercise plan and work on it. You may have to involve your family / friends to reach the exercise. YOu need at least 5 hours of moderate activity per week.
3) There seems the RBC are small because of blood loss or iron deficiency. You can increase the green leaves and fruits that can help HDL and Iron increase.
Once the above set modification and suggestions are implemented the RDW can be ignored.
Hope the points are clear.


1) I am really surprised with the report. I really do not smoker at all. In last 10years I smoked may be only 2 or 3 cigarettes. What should I do in this context? What should be my next step? Do you suggest to reexamine any test again?
2) I don’t’ do exercise I agree. I shall do it.
3) I will take care of having vegetable and fruits. After how many months I need to reexamine RDW test again.

Hi
If you do not smoke that is a good thing. Next time you hold a cigarette think of these reports, you will end it.
Now just follow my other instructions about exercise and diet. You do not need to reexamine RDW until your next annual physical, this is my strong advice. Unnecessary testing leads to more testing and more stress.
Just follow a diet plan and a regular exercise plan. Include fibre in your diet, cut saturated fat to less than 7%. A dietitian can probably help you.
