Question: Hello doctor,

I m a female. My age is 28 yrs. I am married for 4 yrs n trying to conceive since last 1.5 yrs but unsuccesful. I have consulted many gynaecs. My following tests are done...

1.t3 t4 tsh
2.Fsh Lh
3.Amh
4.progesterone
These are all in normal range

5.prolactin slightly high(38.08ng/ml)
6.hsg shows unicornuate uterus with single left patent fallopian tube seen on left side.

My husband's semen analysis and tsh are normal.
Right now i m going through follicular study fr the 3rd time.my doctor is giving me medicine siphen, injection for egg rupture and dupheston after that.

I m tired of unsuccesful results.why i m not conceiving even once.?
Can laproscopy or MRI help in my case?
What shall i do? I dont want to go for iui or ivf right now. Please suggest what i shall do to conceive normally..

Brief Answer:
Please get hysteroscopy done to assess unicornuate uterus

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns about trying to conceive.

Following is my reply:

1. Since your prolactin level is high, you should take treatment. I hope your doctor has given you cabergolin 0.5mg tablets.

2. You have unicornuate uterus. This needs to be evaluated by hysteroscopy. Please get a hysteroscopy done to evaluate accurate size of uterus. Since small unicornuate uterus are incapable of holding a baby.

3. Please get evaluation done soon. Follcular growth scans are useless with unicornuate uterus.

4. See an IVF specialist for accurate assessment.

I hope your doubt is clarified. Let me know if you wish any other information.

Dr. Soumya

Brief Answer:
IVF is best

Detailed Answer:
Laparoscopy or MRI is not necessary.

Since hysteroscopy shows adequate cavity, Please go ahead with IVF as soon as possible. IUI is not required. IVF is best.

IUI chances are very low.
