Brief Answer:
liver should still be functioning, need to prevent further increase

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Both of these are higher than the normal range. Though the liver would still be able to function, it would be important to prevent further increase if possible.

There are different possible causes such as: (1) non alcoholic fatty liver disease- this is inflammation and fat build up in the liver due to diet and decreased activity.

This fat can cause inflammation and damage if it continues. Treatment involves diet changes, increased activity and medication if needed

(2)alcoholic fatty liver disease-fat build up and inflammation and damage caused by alcohol use

(3)infection- hepatitis- usually there would be symptoms present

(4)side effect of medications- statins, which are used for high cholesterol can cause these to increase but the liver would still be functioning

(5)trauma to the liver

(6)mass in the liver

The values can be monitored. Imaging may be needed.

Determining the cause would be important so that it can be addressed.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Thanks, several years ago I was told I have a fatty liver when I had my gallbladder removed. The only other health issues I have is Gerd. So thus really has me worried.... all of their blood work came back normal.

Brief Answer:
if previous history then may be likely cause

Detailed Answer:
HI

If there is a previous history of fatty liver and there are no other symptoms in keeping with other conditions then this is the likely cause.

You may want to take a look at previous test result to see if there is a significant change.

Fatty liver can go on to cause damage and scarring of the liver so you and your doctor can try to halt progress with diet and activity and meds

Right now there are no meds specifically for fatty liver but some may still help such as actos or metformin. These have been helpful for some persons
