Question: I have had multiple bp readings 200/139 196/118, then even 195/95 , some chest discomfort but I have had back pain so I can't tell if it's from the back pain or chest pain I'm overweight. I have a doctor appointment but I'm concerned on which reading was, accurate

Brief Answer:
would all be stage 2 blood pressure readings

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Blood pressure readings should be done after : (1) sitting for at least 5 mins
(2)no coffee /smoking/exercise for 30 mins before checking reading
(3)your arm should be at heart level, if it is too low or held up high , then the reading is not as accurate

If there was a particular reading where all of these criteria was met, then this is the more accurate reading.

They are all very high, they would all be classified as a stage 2 blood pressure which at the moment is the highest stage, so it may not matter at this point, in terms of the fact that they all would require treatment.
Stage 2 is a systolic (upper reading) of more than 160 OR a diastolic( low one)of more than 80.

If the chest pain is consistent or associated with shortness of breath/palpitations/excess sweating/dizziness, then it should be assessed as soon as possible in light of your stage 2 blood pressures.

I hope this helps . Feel free to ask any other questions

Brief Answer:
would gave medication to reduce blood pressure

Detailed Answer:
HI

Medication would be needed to reduce the blood pressure but your doctor may also want to determine the cause of the chest pain by asking certain questions, palpating the chest and listening.

Blood tests and ECG may also be needed if heart related pain is considered.

If heart related (this would be very unusual at your age unless you have a family history), then other medications would also be needed

Please feel free to ask anything else
