Brief Answer:
The tip of the catheter is in a narrow area and this is to be discussed

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

Sorry to hear about the problems you are having and hope you recover quickly.

The CT findings are as follows
1. There is a subdural bleed over the left frontal lobe of brain which probably appeared following the recent surgery and is slowly resolving. It is showing signs of transformation from blood to fluid and this is usually expected.

2. The lateral ventricles are showing enlargement. This was probably there since the shunt was malfunctioning.

3. There is slight inflammation in right maxillary sinus. This is a small finding and is relevant if you have pain over right side of your face around the nose.

4. Then name of the shunt is VP shunt and the tip is placed at the location where the lateral ventricle on left side meets the third ventricle. This can cause headache under certain circumstances if there is insufficient drainage of the excess fluid from the brain to the stomach.

5. You can request more detail from your doctor on this point because this area is to be compared with findings on previous CT scans.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
