Brief Answer:
Needs surgery

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message.
I think I can help you.
The injuries mentioned are best dealt with by a knre joint surgeon.
I am not aware from the query what your doctors were qualified for and what they prescribed.
Temporarily use a knee brace.
And meet an orthopaedic specialist who deals with knees specifically.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.

Brief Answer:
options

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX
The best option is a surgery.
Which of course cannot be done online.
As for medical management, I can suggest following steps-
You can start with following medicines
1. Glucosamine
2. Diacerine
3. Collagen.
You can start with a capsule for each of them.
Since none of them is a pain killer, it will help him in time.
Usually it takes 15 days to 30 days of regular medicine intake before you get feel some relief.
The medicine dose may need adjustment thereafter.

Also, weight control will be essential.
Ask your son to cycle daily. Its a very essential exercise for the joint and is non weight bearing.
These steps should help him a lot.

Best of luck, Dr Mittal
