default
Posted on Fri, 8 Jul 2016
Question: Hi,
My husband took a home test for diabetes with accu check apparatus, he took 2 readings, one in the evening after 3hrs after his evening snack, whose reading was 92, and again he took a test in the morning fasting, and the reading was 96. Is there anything he needs to be alarmed of, or should he consult a physician, or is it ok, since both come under normal range.

Regards,

Brief Answer:
No need to worry in the absence of any other symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome
I have gone through your query.

The reading is within normal limits, no need to worry. In the absence of any other symptoms and based on the reading that you have provided, I can say that he is good. And I don't feel you should be worried.

For your reference:
A normal fasting (no food for eight hours) blood sugar level is between 70 and 99 mg/dL
A normal blood sugar level two hours after eating is less than 140 mg/dL.

Hope this information helps.
Take care.
