Brief Answer:
Myasthenia gravis to be excluded.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Drooping eyelid causes include aging, conditions that weaken the muscles (myasthenia gravis for example), infection or trauma of the eye, etc.

Gravitor is used to improve symptoms of myasthenia gravis, so, before to be sure about the aging as the cause of the drooping eyelid, there is need for further investigations about myasthenia gravis even to exclude it.

Ice pack test and blood tests about antibodies are necessary, besides clinical examination about double vision, swallowing and speech function are necessary to get a correct understanding of the condition.

Discuss with your father's Doctor about these issues.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.

Brief Answer:
Loss of brain mass and stroke.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

The MRI report states that there is cerebral atrophy or loss of brain mass and an ischemic stroke deep in the white matter of the brain.

Brain atrophy may be linked to several conditions such age-related, Alzheimer's, chronic alcohol use and several others.

Ischemic stroke seems to be older than three weeks, so, it should not be responsible for these new symptoms.

In addition, getting evaluated by his Neurologist is necessary for this scenario.

Hope I helped you. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.

Brief Answer:
It depends on the cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

It depends on the cause of brain atrophy because in some cases treatment only lowers the progression.

Getting clinically evaluated by a Neurologist is necessary to understand your father's condition better.

In good health.

Thank your for the reply.
Can the eye strain or blurry vision be part of same issue!

Answered by Dr. Dr. Erion Spaho (12 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Could be the same issue.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again and thanks for being on follow up.

Both, myasthenia gravis ( if will be diagnosed ) and brain atrophy may result in vision issues.

In the other hand, problems with eye itself may be the culprit too.

So, further evaluation and tests are necessary to conclude.

Hope I helped you so far.

In good health.

Thank your for your prompt response
So his neurologist put him on 60 mg gravitor+conQ10 capsules for 2 weeks

He is been having that for last 48 hrs now
As per him there is an improvement in eye drooping however he is complaining that he is feeling very weak plus he is sweating a lot! Are these the side effects? If yes is it still ok to take the medicine?

Brief Answer:
Possible adverse effects of Gravitor use.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

The answer to your last question is yes, Gravitor (pyridostigmine), may cause weakness and increased sweating as adverse effects.

If these adverse effects become bothersome and interfere with your father's functioning, you should discuss with your father's Doctor about lowering the dose of Gravitor.

Hope This helps.
