Question: Dear Doctor,
Me and my wife want to become parents so, we are trying to conceive with no success till now. She was having PCOD and was taking Bigomet and Blong F medicines for past 7-8 months. Now, the medications were changed by doctor and she is now taking Evacure (twice daily) and Folvite (morning only). Her TSH was more than 4 and hence she was taking Thyronorm 25 mcg. She had undergone 2 tests today - AMH and TSH and her reports are attached. Could you suggest what should we do so that she can conceive. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Normal Report

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns about infertility.

Following is my reply :

1) Reports attached are absolutely normal and nothing to worry about.

2) You need to get your semen analysis done.

3) Get HSG ( hysterosalpingogram) test done to assess tubal patency for your wife.

4) If above tests are done and normal, Please go ahead with IUI ( intrauterine insemination).

Let me know if you need anymore help.

Hi Doctor,
Thanks for your reply. Few more queries from my side.

In AMH report, normal range should be 1 - 3.5 as per my understanding. But, it is 7 for my wife. What does that mean? Is it normal and not a sign of PCOD?

I have already got my semen analysis done. Report is attached. I had taken following medications after consulting a doctor with this report.

Doxy - For 14 days twice a day. Stopped now.
Ecosprin 75 - Once daily after dinner for 2 months....still continuing
Paternia - Once daily after dinner for 2 months..still continuing

Please suggest what is your opinion on this. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Get HSG

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

AMH levels are little high indicative increased follicles. This need not be PCOS alone. Even if there is PCOS on ultrasound scan, it is not a problem for conceiving.

You semen analysis is normal. You don't need to take any medicines.

Get HSG (hysterosalpingogram) for your wife as next step.
