Question: This is for my wife who is 29 yrs old. We have a daughter who is 3 yrs old. After 6 months of birth of our daughter, we noticed that her mother has gradually loosed weight and her physics also degraded very fast. We approached a local Dr who recommended for Thyroid test and the results for TSH was 92 which was very high. She asked to take daily 1 pill of Thyroxin 100 MG and since then she was continuously taking this medicine and also TSH test was done every quarterly. When the TSH level was dropped less then 1, the medicine was changed to Throxin 50 MG (without any advice of doctor as we felt that TSH level is dropped below normal range). Thereafter it continued for 6 months but her health & weight never normalised. For our routine check up we again approached the doctor who asked to have haemoglobin test and other test (report attached). Haemoglobin results were around 7.12. We changed our doctor and the current doctor has increased the dosage of Thyroxin to 75MG and also asked to take iron tablet Livozen Z. He also prescribed several test and on the outcome of report he said that she is having Autoimmune thyroiditis (report attached) and referred her to endocrinologist.
He has also said that all her health problem like drop in haemoglobin, weight loose & thin body, no muscle development is due to Autoimmune thyroiditis. I missed to inform earlier that she is also having constipation.
My query is that if the doctor has detected the correct disease then,
- Is the disease curable
-How long will it take to cure?
- Does all the other problem as said earlier is associated with Autoimmune thyroiditis.
-Is she currently having correct medicine?
-What are changes she need to make in her diet & physical activity?
- Does she need to take the medicine life long?
