Posted on Fri, 13 Oct 2017
Question: My whole body aches. And then I have sharp pain for a couple of seconds on my legs, arms feet, neck and chest. I have a headache. Had this on Tues., stayed in bed all day Wed. and felt better. Didn't get out today, but did a few things around the house. Then it came on me again about 6pm and I am miserable.

Brief Answer:
Calcium deficiency v/s fibromyalgia

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the question.
I have gone through your medical history in detail.

Such type of symptoms usually occur due to severe calcium / vitamin D deficiency or in early stages of onset of fibromyalgia.

Severe calcium deficiency leads to generalised muscle cramps all over the body and may last for a few seconds to several hours depending upon the severity of deficiency.

Early onset fibromyalgia may also present in this way and needs to be ruled out by getting the necessary blood investigations done.

I would suggest you to consult your doctor and get the following tests done-

1.Complete blood count / haemogram
2.Serum calcium and Vitamin D levels
3.RA test
4.C reactive proteins
5.Serum electrolytes

Take anti inflammatory tablets like tramadol, paracetamol, piroxicam to reduce the inflammation.

Application of local analgesic gels / liniments followed by hot fomentation before bedtime may help

Start on vitamin D and calcium supplements on daily basis.

I hope the answer was useful.

Feel free to ask me any follow up queries that you may have.

Thank you.
Best wishes
