What Does "2 Cord Lesions,to The Left Of Midline" In The Cervical MRI Indicate?

Question: These are the results from my MRI in follow up to my last enquiry.
Lumbosacral Spine.
Right sided foraminal stenosis of high grade at L4/5 level with impingement of right l4 nerve root
And the cervical MRI --
2 cord lesions,to the left of midline.Focal area of hyperintensity involving the left side of the cord,behind the c2 vertebral body just above the c2/3 disc ,measuring 4 mm in diam and 10 mm in length .there is further hyperintensity involving the left side of the cord ,15 mm in length and 4 mm in diameter.
What is your treatment opinion

I spent ages writing my medical details 2 days ago and was asked by the neurologist I spoke with to send my MRI results.
My question is --would surgery fix-- the pain, numbness ,limping???

According to MRI report you have degenerative disc disease of lumbar spine.
Degenerative changes occurs in spine due to aging and development of weakness in annulus fibrosis which allows herniation of disc.

1.At L4-5 level there is right sided foramen stenosis of high grade with impingement of right L4 nerve root.

Treatment for degenerative lumbar disease includes physiotherapy or surgery.
Since stenosis is high grade in your case,surgery should be done to relieve the obstruction.
High grade stenosis and nerve compression is causing symptoms.

You can continue physiotherapy afterwards.It causes strengthening of Para spinal muscles and it prevents further changes.
You should avoid lifting heavy objects and don't stand for prolong period.
Try to keep the weight of your body on one leg while standing position means keep one leg in folded position while standing.

Spinal lesions need follow up scan.

Why is follow up scan needed for c/spine ??
In short I suffered ADEM in 2008 suffered quite severe hemi paralysis and sustained frontal lobe scarring and c- spine and t - spine scarring
Yes this is usually Monophasic but I actually had a full relapse-- was studied by 7 neurologists at St Vincent's Sydney Australia.I had surgery on L4/5 and S1 only 5 months ago-- I know it's not good-- but I am more concerned with the c/ spine issues--- please enlighten me

There are many causes of hyper intense lesions in spinal cord.It may be due to infarct,demyelinating disease etc.So,you need clinical correlation and follow up scan (if necessary)to see its progression.
