Question: Please explane Abnormal echo texture of the uterus,19 mm fibroid along right lateral body of the uterus distorting the endometriumThis was on the ultra sound results the uterus is ante vetted and bulky measuring 91 x 55 x41mm.The echo texture of the uterus is unusual (myometrial) The endometrium is distorted by the uterine fibroid.However it has a maximum thickness of 3.5mm

Brief Answer: Altered appears of uterine muscle layer. Detailed Answer: Hello, Normally uterine muscular layer appears homogeneous that is smooth and uniform in appearance or texture. When the texture becomes coarse and rough , sonologist reports it as abnormal echo-textures.Generally underlying cause is multiple tiny fibroids which cannot be measured, adenomyomatosis or endometriosis. In your cases since one fibroid has been detected, it is very likely to small tiny fibroids causing this abnormal echotexture. You can discuss this with your doctor.And doctor is very likely to adopt wait and watch approach as no active treatment is needed.
