Question : what is a D&C for a female? I am confused as to what is an endometrium an what causes endometriosis in a 64 year old post menopausal female?I haven't had sex in 6 years. No HIV dx. low prolactin level, low iron count. been on psych drugs since 22 years. Had two children 1st at age 21 normal birth; 2nd at 28 normal birth both full term. i am overweight- 255lbs. difficult to lose weight.

It is the process of taking a sample of the uterine lining by scraping it and then sending the sample to a lab for biopsy.
Endometrium means the lining of the uterus.
Endometriosis means presence of this kind of tissue outside the uterus.
It is rare to have it after menopause.

I needed to have a MRI but because of inability to lie down had to have it sitting up. cold not lay in bed on side, on back without extreme pain. I thought that D&C concerned need for some kind of debate of cancer, but dr said 'whatever outcome of tx would' that she can treat condition. Personally, it is the test for over/night issues. Spine (lower) has 3 bulging of 3 lower discs you. experience nausea. my body is in pain in the morning. Also I use a C-pap machine and started smoking again after 4 years.
