Hi there.
Thanks for writing in.
What was the indication for CT scan?
What symptoms did you have?
Hypodense lesions could mean many things.. like renal tumours, harmless cysts,or infections, etc. It would have to be clinically correlated with any symptoms you might be experiencing.
Your doctor may decide to watch and wait, and possibly do blood work and urine studies and ultrasound to make sure that the kidney is filtering properly and that there is no obstruction.
I would advise you to visit your physician .
Hope this information was helpful to you.

Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan

The ct scan was ordered because I was experiencing abdominal pain. I have had 2 blood tests and 1 urine test in the past 3 months all those tests came back with good results. My urea nitrogen, creatinine and BUN/CREATININE all came back normal and the urine test was also good. I don't see my doctor until early July is it ok to wait this long. Thank you! I appreciate your knowledgeable response!

Hi ..
It is good that your blood tests and urine tests came back as normal.
However,I think it would be best if you consulted a urologist who might follow it up with an ultrasound or further imaging studies.
I don't think you should wait till July.
The sooner the better.
