What Does A D-Dimer Result Of 3.3 Indicate?

default
Posted on Fri, 2 Dec 2016
Question: I recently had a DVT. At that moment my D-Dimer was at 3.3. I am presently on Xarelto. My D-Dimer has come down to 0.88. PT is now at 23.5, INR at 2.3, PTT at 40.0. Should I be concerned with the D-Dimer result at 0.88?

Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

If you are on xarelto (Rivaroxaban) then both D Dimers and PT/PTT/INR testing is not required nor significant.

PT/INR would have been significant if warfarin was used. In case of xarelto there is no need for INR monitoring.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
