Question : My Mom was treated in the hospital for a superficial blood clot in the calf of her left leg. She is in great pain (she's 90 years old) and she was prescribed Morphine. How long or how many before she starts feeing better.
Brief Answer:
it will take some days
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
a superficial thrombosis usually takes a few days to get better as the inflammation starts to subside. A week or so sounds reasonable. The complete healing process will take longer though. Usually NSAID are prescribed for such cases. I understand that your mother is very old, so NSAIDs would raise concerns.
I hope you find my comments helpful!
Kind Regards!
