Question : 5 years ago I had a rectal prolapse repair. A few days ago I noticed a bulge in my vagina and I can only complete a bowel movement by pushing on the area between my vagina and rectum. Is this normal, should I make a doctors appointment?

Brief Answer:
Make a doctor's appointment! This is a rectocele!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. I have reviewed the information fully and this is very suggestive of a rectocele. This is a form of prolapse where the rectum protrudes/bugles into the vaginal. You would need to see a gastroenterologist for complete evaluation and adequate management.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be,
