Question : About three days ago my son found that he has a marble sized bump on the back of his head, right where the drop off is from the skull to the neck. My wife and I were curious as to what this might be?

The most commonest cause of swelling in that area (Nape of neck ) is Lymph node. Exact diagnosis will depend on clinical examination.
Lymph node enlargement is quite common in the region and they usually regress in size. I would suggest you to consult your Physician for routine assessment and evaluation
