Question : Hello! Went to ER a few days ago with very dull chest pain, no other symptoms. They did the whole monitors on chest, blood test and X-ray, everything came back normal. Said my heart is normal I’m size, bones are good and aside from a few deficiency’s, blood came back normal too. My Troponin levels came back at 0.010. Chest still hurts from time to time. What can it be? GERD , possible?

It seems to be muscular

Hi! Welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it seems less likely to be cardiac even at the basis of description and details and nomal Trop I also favors the same. It most likely seems to be muscular and not even supporting any evidence of GERD in absence of any other symptoms of acidity or burning and it isn't usually dull but burning behind chest bone or regurge of acid contents to the mouth etc. A normal Xray also rules out possibility of anything related to lungs.

For further reassurance you can have an echo cardiogram though to rule out any structural heart issue which may present with normal cardiac enzymes but meanwhile OTC analgesics like acetaminophen can be used alongwith muscle relaxants like orphenidine etc. Micronutrients replacement like of vitamin D3, Calcium and B12 as well as Folic acid can be started and may be helpful.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope this has answered your query. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Regards

Thank you! I believe they did the ECG while I was at the emergency room. I’ll start taking B-12 and see if that helps.

Brief Answer:
Yes sure bit alongwith analgesics and muscle relaxants

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Sure you can start it but with analgesics and muscle relaxants as we have already discussed. Replacement of micronutrients act slowly and has delayed implications. Also that even though ECG was normal but echo cardiogram can be more informative. Regards
