Posted on Tue, 7 Jul 2015
Question: I have a normal colored growth on the inside of my bottom lip near my right canine tooth. It is circular and about the size of a dime and twice as high as a dime. Is this something I should worry about? It's been there for over two weeks.

Brief Answer:
irritational/traumatic fibroma, surgical excision, upload images

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
As far as the growth on the inside of your lower lip is concerned, it can be a irritational fibroma or a traumatic fibroma. This occurs usually secondary to chronic irritation by sharp teeth or repeated lip biting. Nothing to be panic, its a benign lesion. It will not harm you. If it is interfering with the function and aesthetics, then get it surgically excised.
I am not able to view the image which you have uploaded, Kindly upload once more.
These are my possible diagnosis and treatment plan based on the description of the lesion by yourself. If you can upload the image i can give you exact diagnosis and treatment plan.
I hope i have answered your query. If any queries are there, then reply me back, take care.

Brief Answer:
traumatic fibroma, surgical excision

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for uploading the images. I have gone through the image.
As per the image the lesion looks like a traumatic or irritational fibroma. Nothing to be panic, it is a simple benign lesion. Consult a oral maxillofacial surgeon and get it surgically removed under local anesthesia.
