What Does A Heavy Feeling In The Chest After Full Hysterectomy Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 15 Nov 2016
Question: Hi, I had a 30 pound mass removed along with a full hystorectomy 3 1/2 weeks ago. Feeling heavy chest, dry throat. Went to ER on Friday and had echo, chest X-ray and CT scan. All came back normal. Could this be due to body recovery/muscles, thyroid issue or estrogen patch side effect? I was sent home with an antibiotic. Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Can be due to many causes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The heavy feeling in the chest could be due to low levels of hemoglobin, anxiety, stress, high levels of thyroid hormone or a side effect of the estrogen patch. Sometimes heavy meals with gastritis can also cause such a feeling. Since all the investigations were normal there is no need to worry. It is best to wait for till Thursday for a detailed evaluation.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
