Posted on Wed, 12 Aug 2015
Question: Hi,

My husband has a very high IGE level of 2138 but he has no symptoms of any allergies or anything wrong. He has done many tests at the hospital and they haven't found out why. He even did a bone marrow biopsy but all was clear. Should we be worried?

He was taking Lipitor when the first IGE test was done and at that point the level was 1900....Since then he has stopped Lipitor for two months now and the IGE levels have increased to what they are now 2138. Other than that he does not take any medication.

To be exact he has had abdominal pain (lower left side) for the past three days. The uncomfortable sensation comes and goes and he has had a loose stomach.

He has NOT had stool microspopic examination.

Do does NOT have eosinophilia....however he has had some 'positives' in antinuclear factors.

Thanks

Do you think it can be a parasitic infection even though the abdominal pain is happening 2 months after first noticing high ige level?

We will look into getting the stool test done.

He has NOT undergone an unltrasound of the abdomen.

Thanks
