Brief Answer:
Need not to be worried.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Welcome to health care magic,

A high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) test is used to assess arthritis, predict the risk of developing heart disease and its complications.

It may be used in combination with a lipid profile or with other cardiac risk markers to assess the risk of developing heart disease.

Increased hs-CRP above the significant range (above 3.0) needs further evaluation. It is important to know about joint pain, heart disease etc.

However,it's value between 1.0 to 3.0 is considered as a average risk of developing cardiovascular disease means the cut of value of HS-CRP (for low to average) is set up to 2.0 and above this value might be considered as a high risk of developing heart related disease.

You need not to be worried here because the value is up to 2 but you can go for lipid profile and other cardiac markers to be in more safer side.

Or you can repeat the test in fasting condition after 1 week in some other laboratory.

It's value above 10 is indicative of acute infection and inflammation which far away from your lab value.

Hope this will help you.

thank you sir for your response..

So You confirm there is no infection or inflammation as the marker for this will be over 10 ?

Can you suggest factors in life, which will improve my overall CRP.

I do have wisdom tooth growing and could do with shifting some weight.

Thank you

Brief Answer:
HS CRP value 2.0 is not a significant risk factor for heart disease.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thanks for the follow-up.

First of all, sorry for the late reply. I had some net connectivity issue here.

Considering your HS CRP (2.0) value which is not so high, there is no need to worry much.

But you can follow some dietary measures with exercises to keep it under control.

Strict fatty foods and diet containing high carbohydrates which are pro-inflammtory.

Eat high fiber diet, all kinds salads in your meal.

Do regular exercises for at least half an hour daily like brisk walking or jogging, cycling.

Quit smoking and alcohol if you do.

Take multivitamins especially vitamin A,C and D.
Vitamin D can be balanced by adequate sunlight exposure for 10 to 15 minutes daily.

Try loose weight if you are obese.

Have adequate sleep and do yoga and meditation to relieve from stress.

Also, you should go for blood lipid profile and periodical testing of blood sugar which are also important factor to assess cardiovascular risk.

Repeat the test in fasting condition after 1 or 2 weeks in some different lab to get more accurate value as I said earlier.

Hope this will help.

Regards,

HI doctor I don't really want to repeat the test. Do you think it is necessary or can I get on with life normally?

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Yes,you will have a normal life.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thanks for the quick follow-up.

It is not hard and fast to repeat the test but i advised you only for the sake of more surety and to be in more safer side.

But if you do not want to repeat the test then there is no issue.

However,I would emphasize to undergo for lipid profile at least once to check the blood cholesterol.

Also,no need to worry about future life as your hs CRP value is not that much of significant so that I would be worried personally.
