                                            Can be ganglion or sheath rupture.

The small knot in the wrist after a surgery for carpal tunnel can be due to mild rupture of the sheath in the area or due to a ganglion formation. It is not much to worry about. Usually local steroid injection helps in proper recovery. It is best to give rest to your wrist till then. Doing a hot compress will help in reducing the pain if any.
