Brief Answer: could be a salivary gland swelling or infection. Detailed Answer: Hello there, Welcome to Healthcaremagic forum! Lump at the floor of the mouth which is not painful suggest swelling of salivary gland, sometimes the salivary gland in the region gets blocked ans swelled. Inflammation of the salivary glands due to bacterial and viral invasion may also lead to formation of such lesions. Other than this lump at the floor of the mouth could be vitamin B12 deficiency, tobacco use, smoking , low immunity, bacterial infections, viral infections, oral herpes. Stress and hormonal changes can also lead to such lesions. Apart from this it could be an cold sore or a canker sores, infection from the tooth, injury to food products which can be treated effectively by a Dentist. Therefore we have so many possibilities that can cause lumps. A direct examination by a Dentist is required to narrow down the possibilities. I would suggest you to consult a Dentist and get examination done and if necessary get x-ray done. Hope you find this as informative and helpful! Take care! Dr Ammara Qazi.
