Brief Answer:
Looks like lipid accumulation or lichen planus

Detailed Answer:
Hi...I have just seen the image. It looks like a lipid or fat accumulation or a skin condition called lichen planus.

It could just be a pigmentation too.

If it is raised to touch or gradually increasing in size I suggest you consult your pediatric dermatologist.

If it is not bothering the baby in any way, it is not a serious condition. Do not worry.

Brief Answer:
You can wait till 17th December

Detailed Answer:
Hi....the possibility of a birth mark as suggested by your pediatrician is the same thing which I mentioned in my third possibility as skin pigmentation.

As the kid is not being bothered by it and gaining weight well and developmentally normal, you need not worry about it as an emergency.

You can consult your pediatrician on 17th December itself. No need to take an appointment earlier for this.
