Brief Answer: Gum boil,or pus formation on root tip. Detailed Answer: Hi XXXX As per your history you had broken tooth since 10 months. There is no pus observed. Now you have noticed a lump on upper gum. At this time I advice you not to worry. The lump can be due to the broken tooth. This allows bacteria reach tooth and infect dental pulp. The bacteria surrounds tooth and also gums leading swelling of gums. This causes pain on chewing. It pressures hard while chewing solid food. What I suggest you is gargling with warm Salt water two to three times a day and over the counter pain relievers like Ibuprofen twice a day. Avoid chewing with upper tooth. If this does not help you should see a local PCP for an antibiotic regimen as well. Sometimes it needs an RCT (Root canal treatment) and/or Oral prophylaxis Hope I answered your query
