Question: I have a mass at the base of my skull. It is growing. It is under the skin. What is it and should I be worried? It is almost all inside the two main tendons going down the back of my neck.

Brief Answer:
It could be Lipoma.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description, it looks like Lipoma, swelling arising from fat tissue.
I prefer to do FNAC (Fine needle aspiration Cytology )of the swelling. It will give a clue regarding the nature of the swelling.
If Lipoma is confirmed, it has to be removed surgically. It can be removed under Local anaesthesia.
Nothing to worry.
Please consult a General surgeon and proceed further.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
