Question : had a pain in my leg just below the right side of my knee about 2 months ago that lasted about 2 weeks. It went away but this morning noticed a knot the size of a golf ball in that section.

                                    Brief Answer:
Could be a growth
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Is the knot soft or hard ?
Does it move with the skin ?
Does it pain on touch or pressure ?
The knot seems to be a growth. If the knot is bony hard in consistency then it could be a tumor arising from the bone.
I suggest you to get an Xray at the earliest and consult an Orthopedician. There may be a need for a MRI to know the growth features and the point of origin based on which management can be planned.
