Question : I am freezing all the time. I keep the ac set at 75 for my kids - they're sweating & I'm in a sweatshirt. I often find the only way I can get warm is by wrapping up in an electric blanket. I've also put on about 10 pounds that won't seem to come off. My thyroid is in normal range (I do have low-ish bp: usually about 95/60 and low body temp- usually about 97.6). What could it be?

Brief Answer:
In my opinion,it could be hypothyroidism.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have gone through your query.
I can understand your concern.

Increased sensitivity to cold, weight gain, low body tem are important symptoms of an underactive thyroid or hypothyroidism.
So,your symptoms are suggestive of hypothyroidism.

You mention that take low dose of Nature-Throid that is a Thyroid hormone and it is used to treat underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism). But you didn't mention why your doctor prescribed this product to you.Did you have overt hypothyroidism in the past?

If you were my patient, i will recommend you to repeat the thyroid function tests(TSH ,fT3 and fT4) because i suspect that your thyroid is not normal.
Hypothyroidism can be the cause of your symptoms and the test results can confirm this diagnosis.(or elimine this option and in this case,it is decisive for the differential diagnosis.)

Hope this is helpful.
If you have other questions, feel free and ask.
Best regards.
