What Does A Rash Under Breast Indicate?

default
Posted on Fri, 5 Sep 2014
Question: I have had a rash under my right breast for about a week. It usually is because of sweat and medicated powder usually takes care of it. It just is not working this time. I read that women can get yeast infection in that area? Could that be it?

Brief Answer:
intertrigo- inflammation of skin folds

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, yeast and/or bacterial infections can occur in these areas. They are prone to occur in areas of the body such as- under the breast, the armpits, inner thighs/groin area.

This is because of heat, moisture and friction as the skin folds rub each other.

It is called intertrigo, inflammation of the skin folds.

The use of the medicated powder is good because most brands would contain soothing agents and barrier protection like zinc.

The zinc acts as a barrier and reduces rubbing and inflammation.

In addition to this, you may want to consider and anti fungal powder to fight any possible fungal infection.
Examples are zeasorb antifungal powder, desenex antifungal powder

These would be available at your local pharmacy.
