What Does A Red Rash In Groin Area Indicate?

Question : I found a small (roughly nickel size) red patch with a slightly rough brown ring in the fold between my groin and leg. It is not sore, oozing or itchy. I just noticed it after shaving this morning. It is in the fold and easy to miss. Any ideas?

Hi Sir,

I understand your query and concern,

As per your description,this could have been possible fungal infection of the flexural folds of the body called Tinea Cruris.

Topical antifungal agents like terbinafine thrice daily application along with systemic antifungal agents like Fluconazole will be effective.

Please note these drugs have to be taken under strict medical supervision.

I have Gone through your uploaded image.

This could be possible fungal infection-Tinea Cruris.

In case of confirmation,examination of the lesion with KOH 10% Solution will help.

As already stated antifungals like terbinafine and Fluconazole will help.
