Question : my kid has reddish patches all over his back, sides and front of his body, some on arms, but not on his face. Apparently, they are not itchy. Is this related to food or the chlorine water of the pool?

I am dr. kakkar (dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have viewed the images.
He seems to have urticaria i.e hives. I suggest Syp. cetrizine 5mg/5ml, 1 tsf daily for a week. Topically you may apply a soothing lotion e.g calamine lotion.

I gave him Allegra 180mg. Is that okay?

Yes, Cetrizine is available over the counter.
Allegra 180 mg is too high a dose for a 5 year old kid. You may give him Syp Allegra, 1tsf, twice daily.
