Question : My ten year old just showed me a small bump on her wrist that is the size of a pea. Its smooth and movable I will take her to see her doctor but do you think it could be something serious?
Brief Answer:
It is not something serious.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
From your description it seems to be ganglion cyst. Do not worry , it is not something serious.Ganglion cysts are not malignant ( not made up of cancer cells) and they do not spread to other areas.
If the cyst is not painful, not limiting activity, and not too big or uncomfortable -nothing to do – the mass may just go away on its own.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care.
