
What Does A Small Lump Below The Rib Cage Indicate?

Question : i have a small ball (the size of a fat 50cent piece (australian) or a flatfish golf ball in size in the middle of my chest, below my rib cage. it hurts to press it (even a gentle press)and it is a little uncomfortable all of the time.

This is probably an atheroma which is commonly found at thip place and it represents enlarged sebaceal gland in subcutaneous tissue. Other posible causes are lipoma or fibroma,but in every case this is not something serious unless it become inflammed. So it is advisable to have surgical removal of it under local anasthesis and this is simple and short procedure. There is no other succesful treatment. Wish you good health. Feel free to ask. Regards
