What Does A Small Lump On Inner Bicep Indicate?
Question: i noticed a small size lump on my inner right side of my bicep about 3 inches from my arm pit this morning. kinda hard, no pain or swelling just came up recently. i am 50 and in the middle of my period. Also going thru menopause. Last month was the first time i had an irregular period. Contacted my gynecologist he said this was normal. Would this have anything to do with menopause or something to check out further?
Brief Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM
Detailed Answer:
I dont think this is related to menopause but also this is nothing serious and probably there is just prominent vein, superfiical vein thrombosis or some benign subcutaneous lesion such as lipoma or fibroma. I suggest just to follow the size of this and if there will be rapid grow, pain, redness or swelling around it then you should do ultrasound with needle biopsy or have surgical removal under local anasthesia.Wish you good health. Regards

is that normal for superficial vein thrombosis to pop up over night? should i worry about any type of blood clot? will it go away by itself? or how long? thanks
Brief Answer:
hi
Detailed Answer:
yes it can pop up in short time. You dont have to be worried about blood clot since this is superficially and there is no risk of deep vein thrombosis or embolism especially if you dont have risk factors. In case of thrombosis it should subside within several days and disappear within 10 days. If it become inflammed then you should apply cold compresses, use antibiotics and rest.
