Brief Answer:
Do not worry at this stage.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for using Healthcare Magic.
From your doctor's description, a spot is not specific. However, he will be able to make more of a comment on it when he reviews an x-ray in 3 months. He will be assessing whether it has shrunk, disappeared or enlarged. If it has enlarged, this would be a reason to investigate further possibly with scans.
I understand there may be some worry until you have a diagnosis but at this stage it would be impossible to make a judgement as to what it is.
I note you are having a knee replacement in a week. If you are having no problems with your chest then the x-ray result should not affect your operation or anesthesia.
I hope this is of help to you. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
