What Does A Tiny Red Mark On The Breast Suggest?

default
Posted on Tue, 18 Aug 2015
Question: I just thus morning noticed a tiny pencil tip sized pink mark on my outer left breast. There are no other symtoms...no lumps no swelling no tenderness no redness no dischaege no inverted nipples or scaling no orange peel look to skin no other symtoms at all. I just very recently had a clincial breast exam and my gyn said all was normal nothing abnormal. I had been poking around that area the last couple of days just checking. And I do have some health anixiety issues...

Brief Answer:
nothing important probably

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

a tiny mark could be a mole (a cherry hemangioma actually) that you hadn't noticed or appeared recently. A slight injury is possible too. Any of the two is not important.

Since your doctor found nothing during clinical examination, you should stop worrying. If you're still too concerned about it, you should visit either the doctor who examined you (and let the doctor know about your fears) or a dermatologist, although I don't find any reason for you to do so.

Anxiety may cause significant discomfort about negligible problems, so coping with it is essential.

I hope you find my comments helpful and reassuring!
You can contact me again, if you'd like any clarification or further information.

Kind Regards!
