Question : hi i have schwannoma, negative for malignancy. As per clinical records, CT scan shows a space occupying leison in the left lung upper lobe, abutting pleura section shows a tumor with compact hypercellular antoni A areas and hypocellular antoni B areas composed of elongated spindled cells showing buckled nuclii. Areas of nuclear pallsading around fibrillary process (Verocay bodies) are present. hyalinised blood vessels are seen. Significant mitotiv activity degenerative changes are not identified. tumor cells positive for S100 and negative for CD 34

The report clearly confirms the diagnosis of schwanmoma.
A schwannoma is a type of nerve tumor of the nerve sheath. It can arise anywhere in the body.
The good thing in your case is it is benign( non cancerous).
The treatment options will depend on site of the lesion and symptoms. Since the tumor is non cancerous and it is a slow growing tumor we can opt for wait full monitoring with annual CT follow up. If you are symptomatic like breathlessness or coughing we have to intervene.

The bad thing is the location of tumor, since it is located in the apex of lung, we have to go for an extensive surgery to reach the location.
