Question : So I had an abscess of the lower right lab is major. It's facing inside. My doctor gave me antibiotics course of which I'm in the middle of... But it keeps bleeding. I went to the emergency room at first they could find it but I directed them to the general region and they saw. Good news everything looks okay. But I'm still bleeding, I went to the doctor and the physician was puzzled that the emergency folks didn't have a answer but warm compress. The doc suggested that where it's situated my legs/ body motion could be inhibiting.scraping the scab off. So suggested petroleum jelly twice a day. Is that a good?

Brief Answer:
Bleeding is due to excess granulation tissue

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Ms

The persistent bleeding is likely to be due to excessive granulation tissue present during healing phase of abscess. Local application of Petroleum jelly wont be helpful.
It would be very helpful if you could provide clinical photograph for further assessment.

Brief Answer:
Hot Seitz bath will be helpful

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms

As exact cause can only be attributed by clinical examination. I would suggest you the following

1. Hot Seitz Bath: To a tub of lukewarm water add 2 spoon of antiseptic solution. Sit in it for 15-20 minutes twice a day. It will reduce the pain and bleeding

2. Local application Of Metronidazole Gel will be helpful

The bleeding should subside.
