Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

In a recent small study of 237 women using either the implant or hormonal IUD, none of the women conceived within the first 6 months after their expiration.

Usually after women have had the implant for awhile, their normal cycles and periods stop or they just spot and have irregular bleeding. Is that what the case was for you? If so, it is possible that the hormones are still working and have prevented your period from returning, in which case, no worries.

However, I recommend two items for safety's sake:
1. Do check a home pregnancy test just to make sure.
2. Unti you get your new implant, use a back up contraceptive method such as condom plus spermicidal jelly. And don't use the spermicide until after you have taken the home pregnancy test.

But, most likely, you are fine - neither pregnant, nor abnormal that you haven't gotten your period.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
