Question: I awoke this morning to my belly button oozing an odorless, milky, pinkish colored matter. I also have a dull, achy pain just above my belly button. Should I see a doctor?

Brief Answer:
Yes, need to consult

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

Based on the description you provided I believe you could have developed an umbilical abscess.

I recommend, you visit a general surgeon who can have a look and drain if necessary. Most of the abscess can be expressed without any incision and treated with antibiotics. Rarely some bigger collection of fluids behind the umbilicus needs incision and drainage.

Need not worry, this is not a serious condition but definitely should be looked upon.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.
