                                            Question : I've been having pains on my back left side for about a week and I've done nothing for it, now the pain has come towards the front of my chest

Sometimes cardiac pain can present in atypical manner like back pain, epigastric discomfort or even neck pain radiating to left arm etc.
So with your past medical history this can be evaluated with EKG.For palpitation sometimes 24 hours holter test is needed.Doctor might also get a 2d Echo or stress test done for you.
