Question : I know I need to go see my gyn but its probably going to be a bit before they can fit me in and I'm worried about whether I need to go to planned parenthood to be seen sooner and that I don't miss anything important... I'm 39 years old. I had sex about a week ago with a new partner after a long period of anstinence, no problems, then we had sex a couple days ago. We used a new brand of condom with spermicide. We weren't gentle and I started to bleed quite a bit so we stopped. It was not painful, but was too early for my period. Also it was bright red fresh blood, not dark like my period. It stopped after a short while (maybe 1/2 hour) and since then I have had a light pink discharge, spotting really and not constant. But it also has a thin grey tissue like discharge with it sometimes as well. Consistency of wet Kleenex that almost like it disintegrates if you touch it. Also, my labia get red, irritated, and maybe slightly swollen since, but they feel better for a while after I clean the area. Doesn't hurt to pee. Don't know if this is important, but years ago I was told by my gyn that I had a friable cervix after having started having a lot of spotting between periods. We tried changing my birth control pills but nothing worked until I stopped taking any birth control at all for about 6 months. I haven't been back on birth control since. My cervix will still bleed a little during a pap, but not like it did when I was on birth control and my gyn didn't seem worried about it.

                                    Brief Answer:
Gynecologist examination must
Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I understand your health concern.
There are two possible explanations for these symptoms -
1) friable cervix - nothing much to worry but still yearly pap is a must and in case bleeding persists off an on after sex despite of normal pap then a colposcopy is a must.
2) local injury to vagina after rigorous sexual activity and this needs to be examined by a gynecologist for the same at the earliest.
So all in all just visit your gynecologist and get examined.
All the best.
