Brief Answer:
Increase fiber & fluid intake to soften stools

Detailed Answer:
Hi,XXXX
Thanks for your query.

It is most likely a Hemorrhoid. Its not an emergency. You need to increase fiber and water intake so that your stools become soft. You can also use Syrup Lactulose about 15 to 20ml each night for it to soften. For pain you can use local anesthetic ointment that has lignocaine like proctosedyl ointment.

The fact that you can feel the lump outside then its a intero-external hemorrhoid and you should show it to your Doctor whenever you can.

Don't worry its a common ailment and it will be better in a few weeks. The most important part of the treatment would be to keep your stools soft. As long as that happens, there should be no bleeding or pain.

Take care and feel free to ask any clarifications if there are. If not, then please go ahead and rate the answer.

Brief Answer:
Take sitz baths & stool softeners& see your Doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hi Jit. I saw your picture and it looks like an intero-external hemorrhoid. If its very painful, then it could be a perianal hematoma which is also actually a thrombosed hemorrhoid. When blood gets clotted inside a hemorrhoid it is called a Perianal hematoma or a Thrombosed pile. Hemorrhoids and piles are the same thing. If its a Thrombosed pile it should get relieved over 5 to 7 days with warm water baths or as we call Sitz baths. You have to sit in warm water collected in a broad mouthed vessel twice to thrice a day and take stool softeners. Also you can take some pain medicines like Paracetamol or Diclofenac Sodium whenever you have severe pain.
Answer to your next question whether it is temporary. It is not temporary and can can recur with constipation and the permanent or definitive cure is surgery. That is why I suggested you see your Doctor to discuss the treatments available and what you want to choose. So do not worry and start the treatment advised and see your Doctor whenever you can. If you have any more clarifications I would be glad to help. If you do not have any more queries please go ahead and rate this answer. Take care,

Brief Answer:
Not many complications with surgery.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX

Good to hear from you.

1. Surgery can lead to complications like fistula formation or lax anal sphincter or anal stenosis. But all of them are rare. I have not come across any such complications in my practice. So dont worry about them.
2. Pushing it inside is a known way to decrease the pain. When we push the tissue inside the pressure of the anal ring on the pile decreases and leads to decrease in the pain. But this has to be done repeatedly as it tends to come out at the slightest of straining. So you can definitely do it specially if it gives you relief.
3. You can apply Lignocaine gel twice to four times a day and can take pain medicine like Diclofenac orally. These will give you relief from pain. But best is the Sitz bath I told you about.
4. If you see a doctor preferably go to a Surgeon or a GI Surgeon as they usually deal with this problem and not Physicians.
I hope I have answered your queries. Feel free to ask anymore doubts if there are. Take care.
Dr Rishi.
