Question : I had my gallbladder removed in March of this year and before and since I have had difficulty taking deep breaths without slight pain or discomfort. I had a chest xray today and the radiologist believes I may have fluid in my lung. The NP is going to set me up with a pulmonolgist on Tues for further treatment. Do know what the pulmonologist will do?

You are having difficulty in taking deep breaths.
So possibility of either pleural effusion or bronchitis is more.
So pulmonologistpulmonologist will do
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system. By doing this, he can get idea about respiratory sounds and air entry in whole lung.
2. Chest x ray and ultrasound examination of chest (if needed). This is must to confirm if there is pleural effusion (fluid in pleural cavity - space surrounding lungs).
3. PFT (pulmonary function test) for bronchitis.
Don't worry, consult pulmonologist and get yourself diagnosed.
