Brief Answer:
Sciatica/sciatic nerve pain

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern

The burning sensation you are describing in the buttock and lag is likely due to sciatic nerve compression causing pain(Sciatica).
Sciatica can occur due to nerve compression at various levels -lumbar spine, sacroilkiac reaction, piriformis fossa. Underlying osteoarthritis, disc herniation, spinal stenosis can all cause nerve compression.
Confirmation of sciatica and identification of underlying cause required imaging studies like Xray and MRI scan.
Management of sciatica required identification and treatment of underlying cause. Pain management, physical therapy, epidural steroid injections are modes of managing pain and strengthening muscles.
Meanwhile, you can alternate ice and heat compress to relieve pain. You can take Tylenol or advil. Reduce weight if you have above normal weight/BMI.
Please be advised to follow up with your primary care provider for further evaluation.
