What Does Clear Discharge After A Bowel Movement Indicate?

Question: after a bowel movement i have a clear or bowel dischage.only a few drops, like i did not clean myself well is there some over counter creams i can use

Brief Answer: Mucus. Detailed Answer: Hello! Thank you for the query. Clear discharge after a bowel movement is a mucus. Intestinal cells constantly produce the mucus to help with stool passage. However when there is too much of mucus, it starts being noticeable. It can indicate constipation(due to bacterial infection, bad diet, medicines like ca-blockers, hypothyroidism) or some more serious issues like a large intestine polyp or even colon cancer. As you are over the age of 50, such symptoms should be checked with colonoscopy. Stool tests, blood work, thyroid tests should be also done. I had thease test run two years ago, everything were fine then, I had blood work XXXXXXX six month ago every thing were fine, I had a urine test done two month ago I had a bladder infection, does this have anything to do with my problem. What do you sugust

Urinary bladder infection does not cause mucus discharge. So this seems not related. Please try to modify your diet. Increase fiber rich products, mineral water intake and start probiotic supplementation. It should help with the discharge. Regards.
